Smokes and Mirrors...
I woke up today wondering what to talk about. I chatted with a friend for a few minutes and inspiration beckoned. Kim Kardashian. Now, I love Kim. I have always been a fan of the girl and yes, I do keep up with the Kardashians. But, I wonder now, what ladies looked like and did before Mrs West came on the scene. If she didn’t invent anything, she sure made Spanx very popular. She made me know what Ben Nye Banana powder is used for. She had girls running to youtube to learn the art of contouring and highlighting. So now, eyebrows, foreheads, chin and virtually the entire body can be highlighted and contoured, all thanks to Kim. Let us talk about the big backside. If you aren’t brave enough to get a silicone butt, you can go buy the padded panty. You also want the nipped in, tucked in tum like Ms K, go and buy yourself a waist trainer. Do not be a learner. I repeat, do not be a learner.
Happiness and Thankfulness: Life's Greatest Choices.
I've heard people say that happiness is a choice. I have also been told to be thankful in every situation, but these things have never made sense to me. How can happiness be a choice when things almost never go the way we want? How can one be happy in the face of so many disappointments and sadness life throws our way? How can we be thankful when there's at least one sad event on a daily basis? Impossible to remain happy and thankful right?

Women; The Reason for High Divorce Rate!

"Marriages used to work well in the days when women were teachers". Those were the words of a friend's brother when we were discussing the high rate of divorces. He is a legal practitioner, so I believe he has seen more divorces in recent times, but I

Love and relationships
I think dating is a bit daunting. The following below are just my random, meandering thoughts:
1. Is it just me or don't you think that the quality of men nowadays is on the decline? Or women just got more intelligent, hence changed priorities. I really think the more exposed and educated a woman is, the bar is set higher in terms of expectations from these men.

Somethings Cannot be Ignored
I'm not happy that I have not posted anything in a long while, but I've been very busy with school work, child care and running a home. In the midst of all the hustle and bustle of my life, I couldn't ignore the whole Boko Haram bombings and the most talked about abduction of the Chibok girls.
I still wonder who they are, who their sponsors are, and if they have got any hearts at all (it doesn't seem like they do anyway). How else can a group of people cause so much pain to families and a nation without batting an eyelid?

I'm sorry
I, Rene, sincerely wish to use this medium to apologize to everyone. I have been away and circumstances beyond my control conspired to reduce my blogging career. So many things happened all at once, some good, some bad, and some that simply do not have a definition. And I had to develop a coping mechanism and sort myself out.

The Problem with Nigeria: My Opinion
It's been a while
since I did a post, I sincerely apologize. I've been so busy with school work
that I barely have time for myself. I've also been battling 'writer's
block', I hope it clears up soon. I'm not an expert on this issue, but like I
said, it's my opinion and I'll say it the way I truly feel.
Nigeria is blessed
with human, mineral and natural resources (I grew up hearing that) and that
claim still stands, but the society is rife with problems. So many people would
like to hide under Chinua Achebe's quote that, "the trouble with Nigeria
is simply and squarely a failure of leadership".
