The Problem with Nigeria: My Opinion

It's been a while since I did a post, I sincerely apologize. I've been so busy with school work that I barely have time for myself. I've also been battling 'writer's block', I hope it clears up soon. I'm not an expert on this issue, but like I said, it's my opinion and I'll say it the way I truly feel.
Nigeria is blessed with human, mineral and natural resources (I grew up hearing that) and that claim still stands, but the society is rife with problems. So many people would like to hide under Chinua Achebe's quote that, "the trouble with Nigeria is simply and squarely a failure of leadership".

In The Spirit Of Lent, Give

I am Catholic and excited about Lent because of the many things it represents. It is the preparation before Easter; a period to fast and pray and generally prepare yourself for Christ's death and resurrection. It is a time to reflect and focus on Christ and to give to the needy. We all know how Jesus always gave, never asking for anything in return, for himself.  So, there is this on-line site run by Fr. Robert Barron that I am subscribed to and it sends me mails periodically. Today I got a mail from him.

The Many Faces of Friendship

A friend is a gift you give to yourself. My dictionary defines a friend as a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard. I don’t know if it’s a Naija thing but we tend to say: that person is a good or bad friend. Hello, there are no good or bad friends. You are either a friend or not. We make friends everywhere. Some friendships are formed in kindergarten and develop through to adulthood. Some friendship evolves from simple acquaintances and becomes something deeper and long lasting. Some people become friends after a second, some after a longer period of time. For some people; it is as easy as licking a lollipop.
